Nuevo Progreso has hundreds of medical practitioners, dental experts & pharmacies ready to fill your prescriptions. There is so much competition in this town that I can almost guarantee you that the lowest prices for all services & pharmaceuticals will be found here. This is also the only place you can get your prescription filled & grab a chili dressed beer right nearby for a couple of bucks!
Come have a day drink or stay for the night life. Nuevo Progreso boasts many outdoor bars and cantinas. They have the best mixed drinks, micheladas, specialty shots, domestic and imported beers. They also have in house specialty drinks, and anything else you may want poured out for you. Some of these bars have been around over 20 years, come have a great time with your friends, spouse or loved ones any day. The bridge is open 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
If you are looking for authentic tacos, lonches, sopes, sincronizadas, gringas, enchiladas, chiles rellenos, menudo, barbacoa, gorditas & many other authentic Mexican dishes, look no further. There's also a variety of snacks like corn in a cup, corn on the cob with all the trimmings & the ever famous spicy or not so spicy (del que no pica!) chili powder, candies, chips & natural fruit ice cream for your sweet tooth. You can also take a bit of Nuevo Progreso home with you at the many tortillerias and grocery shops in town.

Take a walk through the Centro, its the main attraction in Nuevo Progreso but not the only one. A new service has popped up in this town called "Moto-Taxis." They are motorcycle taxi drivers that can take you to and from the bridge in a flash and they only charge a few dollars.
Walking is also a great time as is driving into town. Whichever you decide, we are sure you will have a great time.
Elotes are another staple in town. There are many vendors making many kinds of snacks with corn. The most popular are con on a stick, and in a cup but there have been many new creative combos including different types of chips and ramen soups with corn.
Fresh made daily a "lonche" consists of a small fried elongated oval shaped bread and stuffed with your choice of meat: bistek, tripas, molida, pastor, or whatever mix you want. Next its topped off with veggies like cabbage, lettuce, tomato, cilantro, avocado. Some places also offer these topped with cheese.
There are many bars and cantinas in town sure to have your favorite beer, mixed drink or shot!
